Ground Zero, Daybreak

Ground zero, daybreak,
Hiding in the shadows,
Maybe no explosives will find me in this cave.
Ridicule and judging.
Schizoid reaction.
Shut down and silent, not far from the grave.

Life in the trenches,
Frozen with sorrow,
All turned to ashes, all turned to dust.
Selective memory.
Shot down in silence.
All inner volition immobile with rust.

Dehumanizing,
Seeing me as "other,"
Beyond a soul, existence disavowed.
Self-righteous dominion.
Eternity mocking.
Fiery blast from a white mushroom cloud.
