Walk on the Water

Brilliant charisma, your walk on the water
Didn't work out today, quite as you'd planned
One step off that rowboat, your foot on the surface
All the spectators then saw your true hand
Ignoring the laws of molecular tension
Believe your own lies, on the water you'd tread
You'd boasted for hours about your great powers,
You had it all; it went straight to your head
Sure-footed balance is never an option
In the Pacific, all tangled in slime
Life-threatening ocean, uncertain motion
Walking on water is not for our time
Walk on the water, show your true mettle
Brilliant charisma now cleaned to the bone
Mud-soaked and dying, believe your own lying
One step off that rowboat, you sank like a stone
